I loved this series Pastor Dave! There were a lot more economic "storms" than I realized. I've made a commitment for 2009 to put God 1st when it comes to my finances.... ALL of them! :)

Hi Toery, Thanks so much for the encouragement! You hit the nail on the head. God wants us to trust Him. One of His primary purposes for money in our lives is to teach us to trust in Him. It's one of the hardest things to do to take those first steps, but He proves himself trustworthy and it gets easier and easier. Pray with me that Peachtree will trust the Lord more through our current series.

Glad to help. The extra emergency fund is one of my favorite tips. We can be a certain amount of undisciplined and recover from it. If I actually have to look up the info to access the big emergency fund, it's like going to DEFCON 1...it put us on high alert!

Great idea to help people out Pastor and Team. We can all use the tips and many of us just need to learn to trust the Lord with our money first.

Jan, you need to tell us your story about the great car you bought. Bought it low, drove it 2 years, and sold it for way more than you bought it for. Mathematically, you can't even calculate the return on that. That kind of investment will get you though the storm! Love you to come tomorrow night and share your wisdom with the group!

Not possible to improve on you or Dave Ramsey! So true about money stashed away being able to cover a multitude of "Stupid Tax" as he calls it. Man, if we knew then what we know now.... Seriously you gave me an idea I hadn't considered yet, an "extra" emergency fund hiding place. Linda and I will look into this soon. Thanks David!

Man, I can definately identify with the whole "spend alot of money on things I don't need", but the car thing is of biblical proportion! "run 'em til the wheels fall off is my motto(but PM preventive maintenance IS THE KEY). Thanks for sharing!
